Following several intense battles for the lead in the second half of the Wayne Carter Classic, Ricky Baker and Ty Majeski made contact entering turn one. The contact lifted Majeski up and over the left rear tire of Baker, and eventually led to majesty spinning. Majeski was found at fault, sent to tail, and later fell out of the race after observing low oil pressure.
“This is huge, I’ve always wanted to win this race. I remember when I was a little kid seeing Joe Schear win it all the time. Lot of big names on that list. I’m just happy to be part of it.” – Ricky Baker
On the Move:
Travis Braden moved up 12 spots from his 15th starting position to finish third. Braden challenged for second in the closing laps, but took home the podium after a slow start to the day.
Rich Schumann Jr. was the pole sitter for tonight’s feature following the invert. After leading early, he suffered a problem and retired from the race early. He dropped 19 spots due to the trouble.
Polesitter Schumann Jr. fell off the pace and retired after leading early. Austin Nason struggled throughout the race after suffering a cut tire early in the Feature. He set quick time in qualifying, but was not a factor. Ty Majeski and Ricky Baker made contact while battling for the lead. The contact later forced Majeski to retire. Baker easily won the race following a late restart.
Travis Dassow had a mechanical issue with his car and will be unable to start tonight’s feature. There is a $1,000 bounty tonight for any driver that can beat Ty Majeski, as long as Majeski finishes on the lead lap. Majeski will start 11th following a 12-car invert. Majeski and Ricky Baker made contact during the Even Heat, but it appeared that neither car had significant damage.

Who to Watch For:
Ty Majeski has been on fire so far this year, and has won the last five ARCA Midwest Tour races. Majeski, who is also a Roush Fenway Racing development driver, has also won three straight ARCA Midwest Tour championships. The only other person to win this year was Andrew Morrissey at Madison International Speedway.
A bounty has been placed on Majeski for tonight’s race. If another driver is able to win tonight’s Wayne Carter Classic and Majeski is on the lead lap, the bounty will be paid out to the winner.
Ty Majeski leads the 2017 ARCA Midwest Tour championship with 664 points, 160 points ahead of second place. The battle for the rest of the top five is close, with second through fifth separated by 18 points.
