FAYETTEVILLE, TN — The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be a part of the 13th Annual March Madness at the Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC., on Sunday March 1st that will pay the winner $10,000 and be the second day of a Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series weekend that includes the night before the 18th Annual Bama Bash at the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL., making it a possible $25,000 to win weekend for one driver.


The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series was part of  the first March Madness Cherokee Speedway that saw a classic finish and win for Donnie Moran as Earl Pearson Jr, Duayne Hommel and Chris Madden all crashed in turn four coming to the checkered flag for one of the most memorable Southern All Star events ever.


Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA., has the most wins in the March Madness events with three followed by Jared Landers of Batesville, AR., with two and Moran of Dresden, OH., Earl Pearson Jr of Jacksonville, FL., Jeff Smith of Dallas, NC., former Southern All Star champions Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC., Clint Smith of Senoia, GA., Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN., and Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN., all have one win each in the event.


Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., will lead the Southern All Star contingent of drivers into the race as he will be trying to get his third straight series title, but Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., Chris Wilson of Crossville, TN., Josh Putnam of Florence, AL., plus many more will be on hand to get the $10, 000 first place prize.


The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series looks forward to coming back to the fans of Carolina’s and working with Lennie Buff and his staff at Cherokee.


Pit gates will open at 10 am with drivers meeting set for 1 pm and race time set for 2 pm.  The Southern All Star portions will consist of White Performance Qualifying, Hoosier Racing Tire/Sunoco Race Fuels qualifying heat races, PPM Racing Products B Mains along with the feature event.
