FAYETTEVILLE, TN—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by MaxFab will try for the second time to complete the 17th Annual Ginger Owens March Madness this Sunday at Cherokee Speedway (SC). The traditional March event sanctioned by the Southern All Stars pays a hefty $12,000 to win.

The race is named after the long-time scorer Ginger Owens who scored for many of the touring series in the area and was known by the fans and competitors alike. Ginger lost her battle with cancer, so the series and track officials decided to honor her by naming this race after her.

The Southern All Stars got their season off to a good start last weekend at the Southern Raceway in Milton. FL., as Neil Baggett and Casey Roberts took the wins at the 3rd Annual Bash at the Beach.

The Cherokee Speedway race will be the third sanctioned race of the season with Neil Baggett of Columbus, MS. holding the points lead over four-time champion Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN. Current Cruise with the Champion, DirtonDirt.com Rookie of the Year Zach Leonhardi of Emerson, GA. holds the third spot, with another rookie J R Moseley of Columbus, GA. fourth and defending Southern All Star Champion Jay Scott of Fayetteville, TN., fifth. All these drivers are expected to be in action at Cherokee.
