After a successful debut in 2017, the Short Track Super Series Most Popular Driver contest will once again be held on in 2018.

Throughout the voting period, race fans will be able to visit once per day and cast their vote for their favorite driver.

Twenty drivers – the top 10 in both the Short Track Super Series North Region and Short Track Super Series South Region – are eligible for this year’s award.  Drivers competing in both regions have been placed in the region in which they’re highest in points.

“The Short Track Super Series has attracted some of the most popular and polarizing Modified drivers in the Northeast,” said series promoter Brett Deyo.  “ is going to let us find out which of those drivers is most admired by our great fan base.”

The driver who receives the most votes during the voting process will receive an original, laser-etched commemorative plaque to show off their status as the most popular driver.  The winner will be announced and presented with their award at the 2018 Short Track Super Series banquet during the offseason.

“Our staff at loves covering the Short Track Super Series and its drivers,” said Tri-State Editor Daryl Canfield.  “We’ve enjoyed bringing race fans coverage of the series all year long, and we look forward to crowning the series’ most popular driver once again at the awards banquet.”

Short Track Super Series South Region driver Ryan Watt won the inaugural Most Popular Driver Award in 2017.

Voting for this year’s contest will end in November when the votes that have been received will be counted. Race fans can vote for their favorite driver once per 24-hour period, per IP address.
