Short Track Madness Tournament is Down to Four Drivers

With the Epic 8 in the books, Speed51’s Short Track Madness Tournament is down to four drivers. Those four drivers will now battle to see who will compete for the honor of Short Track Madness champion.

The Heartland Region came down to a battle of pavement Super Late Model racers.  In the end, No. 6 seed Ty Majeski defeated reigning Snowball Derby winner Travis Braden to move on to the Fast 4.

The top two seeds in the West/Canada Region squared off for the chance to face Majeski in the next round. Multi-time ARCA Menards Series West and SRL Southwest Tour Series champion Derek Thorn defeated “Big Cat” Brad Sweet, 2019 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, to punch his ticket into the semifinals.

In the North Region, Stewart Friesen became the lone double-digit seed to move on to the Fast 4. He upset fellow Big-Block Modified racer Matt Sheppard to represent the region and the discipline in the next round.

Friesen will go against the champion of the South Region, which will be none other than Bubba Pollard. The Super Late Model kingpin eliminated three-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion Jonathan Davenport to earn his spot in the Fast 4.

The “Fast 4” round will see the best driver from each region battle for the top spot beginning Friday, April 3 at 5 p.m. ET.  Voting will continue until Monday, April 6 at 11:59 p.m. ET, and the championship matchup will be revealed on Tuesday, April 7.

Voting to crown the overall “Short Track Champion” of the 2019-2020 season will begin at 5 p.m. ET on April 7 and end on Thursday, April 9 on 5 p.m.  The winner of the tournament will be announced on Speed51 shortly after.

Voting for the Fast 4 as well as the Short Track Madness championship will take place on, as well as Speed51’s social media platforms.  Stay tuned for your chance to vote on which drivers will compete for the Short Track Madness title.

While the tournament will be crowning a champion, fans can also win by participating in “Short Track Madness.”  Those who place their votes and share with their friends, using the widget at the top of the bracket page, will be entered to win one of five Speed51 yearly subscriptions.
