And then there were 16.  Round 2 of the Short Track Bracket Challenge on powered by JEGS is complete and now there are just 16 drivers left to duke it out.

Like in Round 1, we saw a handful of expected outcomes as well as some upsets in Round 2. All three number-one seeds remaining in the tournament (Richie Evans, Jody Ridley and Dick Trickle) moved onto the next round, while 12th-seeded Ron Hornaday, Jr. and ninth-seeded Rick Carelli moved forward as the lowest remaining seeds.

Now that the voting is down to four drivers from each region, the matchups will be even tougher to vote on.  In Round 3 we will see matchups like Hanley vs. Stefanik, Eddy vs. Senneker, Balough vs. Ridley and Eaton vs. Evans.

As we enter the Round of 16, short track racing fans can now vote for all four regions (Midwest, Northeast, Southeast and Midwest) all in one spot.  There will be eight matchups and when the round ends only eight elite drivers will remain.

Voting for Round 3 will last until Sunday at 11:59 p.m. ET.  On Monday, will tabulate the results and introduce the field of eight drivers that fans will be voting for in Round 4.
