Despite the entire Evergreen Speedway staff’s efforts to get Saturday night’s Summer Showdown on track, persistent light rain forced the postponement of the seventh annual event.

Pacific Northwest fans in attendance were still treated to thrilling Legends car and Street Stock feature in wet conditions and even a foot race on the front straightaway between some of the headlining Super Late Model competitors.

Unfortunately, the track drying efforts were no match for Mother Nature as the evening continued and the 200-lap $25,000-to-win event will be pushed to Sunday afternoon.

Pit gates will open at 9 a.m. Pacific Time with the grandstand gates following at 10 a.m.  The seventh annual Summer Showdown will kick off at approximately Noon.

All 41 drivers on the grounds will start the feature after the previously planned last chance qualifier was scratched from the schedule.
