It’s normally known as “Open-Wheel Wednesday,” but this year “Open-Wheel Thursday” will have to do.

The Tri-Track Open Modified Series 100-lap event that was scheduled to be held at Seekonk Speedway in Massachusetts on Wednesday, July 1 has been pushed back to Thursday, July 2 due to a forecast that calls for rain all day long.

The battle at the “Cement Palace” is the third of four rounds scheduled for the Tri-Track Open Modified Series.  Chris Pasteryak and Matt Hirschman have won the first two races at Lee USA Speedway and Monadnock Speedway when the series toured New Hampshire.

Last year’s race was won by Tommy Barrett Jr. after a classic battle between he and Hirschman.  Barrett pocketed a cool $10,000 for the win that he dedicated to his grandfather who had passed away the weekend prior.

Barrett hasn’t raced much in 2015 due to some off-track issues, but he told powered by JEGS that he will be looking to defend his title this week at Seekonk.

Thursday’s schedule of events will remain the exact same as Wednesday’s.  The pit gates at Seekonk Speedway will open at 10 a.m. ET.  Practice is set to begin at 3 p.m. ET with racing action beginning at 7 p.m. ET. powered by JEGS will be at Seekonk Speedway to bring live Trackside Now coverage from the track all day long.  We will also have highlights from the event that can be seen on the 51 Network in the days to follow.
