Massachusetts’ only asphalt short track, Seekonk Speedway will be holding an open practice session on July 16th from 12-5pm ET. The practice is meant to give Tour-Type Modified teams the chance to test their cars for the $10,000 to win Open Wheel Wednesday event on Wednesday, July 23rd.

For the Tour-Type Modifieds, Open Wheel Wednesday will serve as the final race for the Tri-Track Open Modified Series, which carries a $10,000 point fund.

Heading into the final event of the three race series, Jon McKennedy leads the way over Rowan Pennink in the point standings. Richard Savary, Max Zachem, and Matt Hirschman are all close behind.

The practice session on July 16 will also be open to NEMA Midget and NEMA Lites teams, who will also be racing during the Open Wheel Wednesday extravaganza.  There will be a rain date of July 17 for the practice session.

Admission will be $20 per person and pits will open at 10am that morning.  Teams can register for the practice by calling the Seekonk Speedway office at 508-336-9959.  Tires will be available for purchase if the track registers enough Modifieds for the practice session. will have more on Open Wheel Wednesday during the weeks leading up to the event.

Seekonk to Hold Test Session for Open Wheel Wednesday
