SEEKONK, Mass. – After the first announcement of the 2019 schedule last week, Seekonk Speedway is proud to present the entire list of events planned for the 74th season of competition at the Massachusetts oval.
The NASCAR Whelen All American Series will compete in a 17-race schedule — one that spans from the opener on Sunday, May 5 through championship night on Saturday, September 21. The schedule includes a few weeks off in the summer months for teams, and fans, to spend time with family. The NASCAR lineup will include the Pro Stocks (Division I), Late Models (Division II), Sportsman (Division III) and Sport Trucks (Division IV).
Fast Fridays roar into action with a 16-race schedule that begins on Friday, May 31 and rolls through championship night on Friday, September 20. Much like the Saturday divisions, there are a few select Friday night races off. The lineup includes Legends Cars, Pure Stocks, Sport 4’s and Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws.
The Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series, a three-race series that includes extra laps, extra cash and its own championship point standings, and the Power 5 Series, which includes five extra laps and extra cash on select nights for NASCAR divisions, will both return to the schedule. The Phil’s Propane championships will all be decided on August 23 & 24th on Phil’s Propane Weekend at the Speedway.
Some of the annual New England events returning to Seekonk in 2019 include:
- NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Seekonk 150 (June 1)
- Open Wheel Wednesday’s $10,000 to win Tri Track Open Modified Series 100 and NEMA’s Boston Louie Memorial (June 26)
- Seekonk’s D.A.V. Fall Classic (September 28)
- Third annual Haunted Hundred with the Tri Track Open Modified Series, Pro All Star Series and Late Models (October 26)
With the D.A.V. Fall Classic moving up one week, the show now also includes the addition of the Granite State Pro Stock Series, a New Hampshire based touring division that visited Seekonk for the first time in 2017. The staple event will also include Seekonk’s Late Models (50 laps), Sportsman (30 laps) and Sport Trucks (30 laps). The Fast Friday Fall Classic Championship Night will make the end of their points season on September 20th.
The Troy City Tactical Spectator Drags will return in 2019 with an eleven race schedule beginning on NASCAR Opening Day and ending in November at the Nutcracker.
Propane Plus will be the sponsor of Autograph Night at the Summer Nights Pit Party on July 20th. Check out all the NASCAR and Fast Friday Stars and Cars on the track and get signed Autograph Hero Cards supplied by Propane Plus.
Everett’s Auto Parts will also be sponsoring Fan Appreciation Night on August 17th with complimentary Kayem Hot Dogs and Pepsi for all attending along with our annual Fans On Parade.
The Senior Tour Antique Racers will make their annual appearance again on Saturday July 13th and the Shriners Clown Unit will once again be hosting the Kids Trike Races on July 27th.
A few other nights to mark on your calendars are our Military Night on May 18th, Youth Sports Night on June 22nd and Scout Night on September 14.
Thrill Show fans will have six opportunities to watch the thrills and spills at the third-mile in 2019, beginning with the Memorial Day event on Sunday, May 25. Continuing a trend from last season, the summer shows will be run on Saturday nights, with the Independence Day Thrill Show and Fireworks slated for July 6. The Monster Trucks return for one show on August 3 as part of the Mid Summer Thrill Show, while the Labor Day Classic takes place on August 31. The final two shows of the year have both been moved up a bit, with the Pumpkin Smash on October 5 and the Nutcracker on November 2.
Prior to the season, NASCAR teams will have three opportunities to tune on their rides as part of practice sessions. The dates are April 20th and April 27th where any Seekonk division other than Bandolero’s will be allowed to take to the track. As part of opening weekend, on Saturday, May 4, NASCAR divisions (only) will have a practice session as part of the annual Car Show & Swap Meet. Fast Friday divisions will have two of their own practice sessions on Friday, May 10 and Friday, May 24.
Seekonk Speedway would like to take a second to thank all of our great sponsors for returning and continuing to make great racing possible at Seekonk Speedway in its upcoming 74th season.
