This showcase of ‘wings and wheels’ will also be available to worldwide audience on Speed51.TV next Wednesday, June 9.
WATCH LIVE: Boston Louie Memorial at Seekonk
Originally planned for the 2020 season, Seekonk’s Boston Louie Memorial will now stand as its own special Wednesday night event in 2021. This staple of the Northeastern Midget Association schedule for two decades, celebrates the life of the late racer & car owner ‘Boston’ Louie Seymour, with both the NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites each running 29-lap features.
Joining them is another staple of Northeast winged open-wheel motorsports, the Big-Block Supermodifieds of ISMA. It will be the first time the ISMA Supermods have taken on the Massachusetts oval since October 2011. The first Supermod race in a decade at the ‘Cement Palace’ will be 75 laps in distance, and while not a points paying event, it will serve as the first ISMA sanctioned event of 2021.
Like Seekonk, ISMA race teams were also negatively impacted by overbearing restrictions at a majority of tracks that are staples on their schedule. With just three events being sanctioned in 2020, the decision was made to not crown a 2020 champion. Before that happens in 2021, the Supermod drivers will have the chance to get all that anticipation out of their systems with this strictly check and trophy race.
With the capacity limits gone, local fans from Eastern Mass and Rhode Island are expected to pack the track, along with more from across the Northeast on June 9. Everyone else from across the land can watch the event live with their Speed51.TV yearly or monthly subscription.
