There’s a social media meme of one Spider-Man pointing at another Spider-Man. It comes from a 1967 episode of the Spider-Man cartoon when someone tries to impersonate the original Spider-Man and the two meet face to face.

The Late Model Stock Car scene has its own Spider-Man pointing meme in the form of two Justin Carrolls. Depending on how much you pay attention to Late Model Stock Car racing in North Carolina and Virginia, you’ve probably run across some confusion because of this.

You see, there are two Justin Carrolls. Both race Late Model Stock Cars, there’s no difference in the way they spell their name, and they’re the same age as well.

And this weekend, something extraordinary happened. Justin Carroll won. And Justin Carroll also won.

Justin Carroll winning isn’t big news. He’s scored a few wins this year and last year in a Late Model Stock at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC) and added to that with a win at Ace Speedway (NC) on Friday night.

But Justin Carroll winning is big news, because his win at Langley Speedway (VA) on Saturday night was his first win in a Late Model Stock.

Confused yet?

Okay. Let’s recap. There are two Justin Carrolls. Both won a Late Model Stock Car race this weekend.

Justin Carroll from North Carolina won a Late Model Stock Car race Friday night at Ace Speedway (NC).  Justin Carroll from Virginia won a Late Model Stock Car race Saturday night at Langley Speedway (VA).

“That’s pretty awesome that we were both able to get it done in the same weekend,” said North Carolina’s Justin Carroll.

As it turns out, the Justin Carrolls know each other, as Justin Carroll explained via text message on Monday afternoon.

“We do know each other. I’ve raced with him a few times at Langley. I actually even drove his car one time to help him out.”

On Friday night at Ace Speedway when Justin Carroll was awarded the victory, the local newspaper writer encountered the two-Justin Carroll-confusion for the first time as he tried to accurately write the hometown for Justin Carroll. At Ace, it was North Carolina’s Justin Carroll who got the win. And he’s from Concord, for the record.

But sportswriters aren’t the only ones to get confused by the two Justin Carrolls. According to Justin Carroll (you can guess which one), even NASCAR has gotten confused by the Justin Carrolls.

“I know NASCAR has got our points mixed up a few times,” Carroll said.

They also get confused on social media too as Justin Carroll has had people tweet him to ask him questions about his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East races, but that’s the other Justin Carroll.

By the way, Justin Carroll has one top five and four top-10 finishes in six K&N East starts.

So if you’ve read this far and you’re still confused about which Justin Carroll is which, here’s all you need to know.

Justin Carroll is a good race car driver. Justin Carroll is a race-winning race car driver. Those are facts. No matter which Justin Carroll you’re talking about.
