The 2018 Short Track Draft presented by PFC Brakes official draft ballot has been released and will soon be in the hands of nearly 200 short track racing experts.  Once those ballots are sent back to us and tallied, will begin revealing the top picks within the next month.


It will all get started at 5 p.m. ET on April 26 when the number-one pick is revealed via a video on the Speed51 Video Network Shortly thereafter, the top short track racing prospect in North America will also be released via text form on


After a night of conversation about the top pick, the second overall pick of the draft will be released the following morning, April 27 at 9 a.m.


Draft choices three through 10 will be released later that day at 5 p.m. will then bring our viewers a video to recap the top ten young prospects chosen by nearly 200 industry experts throughout the nation for 2018.


After a weekend of racing, we will release picks 11 through 25 on Monday, April 30 at 9 a.m. On the heels of that announcement will be the 26th through 51st prospects on Tuesday, May 1 at 5 p.m. ET. That announcement will conclude the 2018 Short Track Draft presented by PFC Brakes, but it won’t bring an end to the analysis and content.


On Wednesday, May 2 we will bring in 2017’s number-one draft pick Todd Gilliland to share his top draft picks for this year.


The “Best of the Rest,” a list of the prospects who narrowly missed out on the top 51, will be shared on on May 2.


Next up will be a special edition of the Speed 51 Unfiltered Podcast, where we will review the results of the Short Track Draft presented by PFC Brakes.


The last thing posted on May 2 will be a video detailing the top 10 female prospects in the 2018 Short Track Draft.


The drivers who missed the cut this year will be shared on Thursday, May 3 and will be followed by a list of the top ten biggest movers of the 2018 draft. The top ten biggest movers of the draft will show us the ten prospects who have improved the most positions since last year’s draft.


Friday, May 4 brings the top 10 dirt drivers of the 2018 draft prospects, followed by the top 10 Modified drivers posted on Monday, May 7.


Coming to the Video Network on Tuesday, May 8 will be the incredibly talented drivers who are 15 and younger.


Lastly, Wednesday, May 9 will have the top 10 late model drivers who made it onto this year’s draft list.
