After remaining dormant in 2020 due to local and state COVID-19 restrictions, Bowman Gray has released its 2021 season schedule as the historic venue hopes to get back on track in the new year.
The season will begin on April 17 with Bowman Gray’s signature kickoff event, the Hayes Jewelers 200. The 200-lap Modified race is the longest of the year, and sets the stage for the season’s Modified championship battle.
Eighteen race dates are on the 2021 Bowman Gray Schedule, along with two dates reserved as rain dates to make up previously postponed events. The season is currently scheduled to conclude on August 21, with the Carolina Farm Credit 150 for Modifieds headlining that night’s racing card.
Without a racing season at “The Madhouse” in 2020, Burt Myers remains the track’s defending Modified champion from his triumph in 2019. That title tied him with Tim Brown at 10 track championships apiece, and both drivers will be eager to break that deadlock with a championship in 2021.
