Salvage City Steps Up to Support Cherokee Last Chance Race

On Saturday, fans will #WelcomeBackRacing while watching the inaugural Palmetto Invitational from Cherokee Speedway on Speed51.  A local company is joining the fun and jumping on board with the event by sponsoring the Last Chance Race.




Gaffney, South Carolina-based Salvage City Inc. will be the presenting sponsor of the Last Chance Race, which will pay $1,000 to the winner.  Salvage City Inc. is a company located just down the road from Cherokee Speedway that specializes in the sale of quality used auto and truck parts.  Go to to learn more about Salvage City Inc. and what they have to offer.


The entry list for the Palmetto Invitational is dotted with some of the biggest names in Dirt Late Model racing.  From national champions such as Jonathan Davenport and Darrell Lanigan to local heroes like Ross Bailes, Chris Madden and Brandon Overton, there will be no shortage of competition at “The Place Your Momma Warned You About.”


A live pay-per-view broadcast of the race on Speed51 will help supplement the purse for the $10,000-to-win race.  No tickets or pit passes will be sold to the general public for the event due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in place.


The event will also benefit The One SC Fund through a portion of the pay-per-view sales.  The One SC Fund is currently activated to fund statewide COVID-19 response efforts in a partnership between SC Grantmakers Network, Together SC, and the United Way Association of SC.


Speed51 yearly subscribers will receive 10% off the purchase of Saturday’s broadcast.
