There are not many things in open-wheel dirt racing that Joey Saldana has not won.  Well, after Saturday night in DuQuion, IL, mark another one off the list.  The World of Outlaws Sprint care star has finally won a indoor midget race.  The “Brownsburg Bullet” dominated the “Battle at the Center” to pick off his final trophy of 2014.

Saldana held off USAC star Bryan Clausen and 15 year-old Indiana high school freshman Justin Peck for the victory at the DuQuion State Fairgrounds.

The “Battle at the Center” POWRi Midget event was in its fifth year and attracted 59 drivers, including NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racer Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who finished eighth.

The event is the precursor to the Tulsa Shootout (Dec 31 – Jan 2) and Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals in Oklahoma in January.  Check out to watch either of those events.
