Racers in the Rowdy Energy Super Select Series powered by Speed51 are already battling for their share of a series-long points fund over the 10-race schedule. They’ll now also be battling for an automatic invitation to Super Late Model racing’s All-Star event.
The champion for the Rowdy Energy Super Select Series powered by Speed51 will receive an invitation to the 2nd Super Late Model All-Star Race. The event, held for the first time last year at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN), brings together the best Late Model racers across North America for a showdown.
The event is typically open to winners of major and touring Super Late Model events in the real world. However, the champion of this invitational sim racing series featuring many real-world Late Model stars will also receive an invitation.
In order to compete at the Speed51 Super Select, the champion must be able to provide a legal car at the event.
Should one of the sim racers in the Rowdy Energy Super Select Series win the championship, this invitation would be extended to them as well. However, they will have to find a legal car for the event, as well as pass an on-track performance test conducted by event promoters.
Should the Rowdy Energy Super Select Series champion decline this invitation based on any of these circumstances, it will be offered to the highest-finishing driver in the championship standings until someone accepts.
In 2019, Bubba Pollard won the inaugural Speed51 Super Select at Lucas Oil Raceway. Details including the venue and date have not been announced for this year’s event at this time.
Along with the Super Select invitation, racers are competing for their share of a points fund during the 10-race season, funded in part by Rowdy Energy and PFC Brakes.
The Speed51 Super Select Series is currently looking for more companies to be involved. Money received will go towards the point fund for the drivers. Companies interested in sponsoring a portion of the series should email [email protected].
The Rowdy Energy Super Select Series powered by Speed51 returns to action Saturday, April 4 at the virtual Lucas Oil Raceway at 7:30 p.m. Fans can find the full schedule for the series, as well as results and broadcast links, by clicking here.
