Rowdy Manufacturing Going Back to Roots With Name Change

Rowdy Manufacturing announced Tuesday evening it would rebrand, now known as Hamke Racecars, ALR Inc.  The name change comes as a tribute to the late Robert Hamke, as well as an effort to eliminate confusion resulting from the merger of Rowdy Manufacturing and Hamke Racecars and Parts in 2018.

“Rowdy Manufacturing, an industry leader in producing premium quality Super Late Model chassis, has announced today that the company will begin operating under a new name and will be known as Hamke Racecars, ALR Inc,” said the company in a press release.  “This rebranding strategy is to tie the company back to its original roots to honor the great Robert Hamke, and to eliminate confusion of the merging companies of Rowdy Manufacturing and Hamke Racecars and Parts.

“The company’s ownership has not changed.  Owner, Justin Oertel, stated, “We believe it was appropriate to rebrand our company to more specifically reflect our long history and heritage.  Our product will not change whatsoever, only the name.  We are very excited about the introduction of our new company name; Hamke Racecars, ALR Inc.”

Rowdy Manufacturing and Hamke Racecars and Parts merged prior to the 2019 racing season, following the purchase of Hamke Racecars and Parts by Oertel.  Rowdy Manufacturing chassis scored back-to-back Snowball Derby wins in 2017 and 2018 among other major triumphs, while Hamke Racecars and Parts was founded in 1981 by Robert Hamke and scored countless wins and championships over the better part of four decades.

Hamke passed away in July 2020.  Along with his success as a car builder, Hamke was also a successful racer and car owner during his short track racing career.  The name change will honor Hamke and the company’s roots dating back to the early 1980s.
