For over 30 years, Gilley’s Heating and Air Conditioning has been a supporter of auto racing in northern Illinois. From supporting multiple racers in various divisions to their continuous presence at Rockford Speedway, the Gilley family has always been at the forefront of racing in the Stateline area.

After five seasons of supporting the “Gilley’s Cool 5” series, this year brings something new for Gilley’s and the Rockford Speedway. Officials from Rockford Speedway and Gilley’s Heating and Air Conditioning are proud to announce the institution of “Gilley’s Double Features” in 2016.

This summer, each of Rockford Speedway’s four premiere Saturday night divisions will contest a set of “Gilley’s Double Features.” The Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models and Kickstart Roadrunners will run their “Gilley’s Double Features” on Saturday June 11, as part of ‘All Star Saturday Night’ which also includes the ARCA Midwest Tour Kar Korner All Star 100. The Bargain Hunter Sportsman and Miller Lite American Short Trackers run their “Gilley’s Double Features” on Saturday July 23 as part of ‘Gilley’s Heating and Air Conditioning Night at the Races.’

The purse money originally used as part of the “Cool 5” will now be distributed among each of the “Gilley’s Double Features” for all four divisions. Each feature will count as an individual race, meaning there is the possibility for two different feature winners in one night or it’s possible one driver could sweep both events and pocket all the cash in one night!

Race distances remain the same, with Late Model features 30 laps each, Sportsman and Short Tracker features at 25 laps a piece and Roadunner features at 20 laps each.
