This Saturday April 23 is “Opening Day” for racing in the Stateline area, with events planned throughout the area, leading up to the 69th NASCAR Season Opener presented by Pepsi on Saturday night! The fun begins over the lunch hour, with several race teams displaying their cars at businesses throughout the area as part of “Racing Around Town!” You’ll be able to catch some of your favorite cars and drivers at various local businesses during the day this Saturday, as the competitors of Rockford Speedway overspread the area to promote the new season! After that, it’s time for short track excitement ‘under the lights’ and the 69th NASCAR Season Opener presented by Pepsi! The Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Miller Lite American Short Trackers and Kickstart Roadrunners will be ready for action along with the Sam’s Drive-In ‘Kidney Bean Race.’ Also be sure to enjoy opening night with an ice cold cup of Pepsi, available Saturday night for just $1! Gates open at 5 PM, with the Co-Lin Metals Fabricating Fast Dashes going green at 7:07 PM. Adult admission is $12, Students 12-17 are $9, children 6-11 are $5 with Kids 5 and under FREE! As mentioned above, fans are able to get a first look at some of the race cars which will be part of the 69th NASCAR Season Opener this Saturday. But instead of just one central location for a Car Show, fans are now able to see race cars ALL OVER THE AREA as part of “Racing Around Town” from 11 AM til 2 PM. “DOGS AND SUDS NIGHT” AND “LADIES NIGHT” ALL COMING SOON!
With the season just getting cranked up, there’s plenty to look forward to on the 2016 Rockford Speedway Schedule of Events. Next Saturday night, it’s “Dogs and Suds Night,” which means…bring your thirst and appetite! “Dogs and Suds Night” features $1 Beer Specials and $1 Klement’s Hot Dogs! You’ll want to keep your eyes and ears open throughout the night as well…because you never know what else may go on sale in the concession area. Racing action next weekend includes the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Nelson’s Imports Bandits and the Kickstart Roadrunners, along with the Roadrunner ‘Drive Thru Challenge,’ presented by Sam’s Drive In. Then, Saturday May 7, it’s “Ladies Night,” with all Ladies being admitted for just $5 and the first 100 ladies receiving a FREE rose! Racing on “Ladies Night’ features the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Miller Lite American Short Trackers, Kickstart Roadrunners and the Racer Girl Winged Women on Wheels along with the Sam’s Drive In ‘Morning Makeup Dash.” Gates open at 5 PM on both nights, with the Co-Lin Metals Fabricating Fast Dashes going green at 7:07 PM!
