Delevan, New York –– As Labor Day weekend rapidly approaches the Ferris Mowers Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Modified Series fueled by Sunoco teams prepare for a weekend of competition that will have them competing in two prestigious events while having an opportunity to double up their holiday weekend and jam pack it with exciting racing.

The Series makes its first stop at Freedom Motorsports Park as the track runs its second of two Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Modified events on Friday, September 2. Brad Rouse of St. Catherines, Ontario-Canada, claimed the victory in the series first stop at Freedom and he currently leads the series championship standings as well as the track championship standings. Series regulars, like Ray Bliss from Pavillion, N.Y., and Mark Chiddy of Boston, N.Y., look to keep Rouse from victory lane, but they will have to contend with Freedom regulars like Kyle Inman of Darien, N.Y., and Brian Bellinger of East Concord, N.Y., while invaders like Chad Chevalier of Port Colborne, Ontario-Canada, who won the Series most recent event Ohsweken (Ontario) Speedway look to etch their name on the King of the Hill trophy.

The next night, on Saturday, September 3, the Series heads up on to its second hill of the weekend for the Labor Day on the Hill race at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park near Fultonville, N.Y.

Rouse raced against his Eastern counterparts at Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, N.Y., and topped Sportsman Modified ace, Rocky Warner in his first ever visit to the historic facility. Rouse will be looking to continue his magic against the Eastern Sportsman contingent at Glen Ridge where Warner currently leads the track championship standings.

Each track presents racers with a unique set of challenges along with $1,000-to-win on the line to win each night.

“We are trying to build a solid program for our Sportsman racers and give them the opportunity to do some traveling with the Series” stated track owner Bob Reis. “It has been a good Series with exciting racing and I think the fans will once again be in store for an exciting event on Friday night when the Series takes to the track for the King of the Hill. Nobody knows who is going to come out on top.”
