Road to the Oxford 250 Continues Sunday

With the ‘Dog Days of Summer’ now upon us, the ‘Road to the Oxford 250’ at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway is also heating up for the Super Late Model competitors of the Pro All Stars Series and Oxford Championship Series. The season’s battle lines have now been drawn as the second 150-lap PASS event is set to roll at Oxford Plains this coming Sunday, June 6.

Speed51.TV will continue bringing the ongoing saga of the 2021 Road to the 250, with a live broadcast of this Sunday’s PASS 150.

In the PASS Super Late Model championship battle, it’s defending Oxford 250 winner Johnny Clark who is still atop the points standings, in search of his seventh career PASS title. Another former Oxford 250 and PASS champ Ben Rowe has used consistency to stay hot on the heels of his fellow Maine racer, both of whom have battled many times over the past two decades.

But, the newest youth of PASS has shown that they mean business in 2021. Kate Re has continued her comeback from a practice crash in April at Thompson Speedway to run third so far in points. Rowland Robinson Jr and Dan Winter have also shown their consistency as they round out the top five in points.

Meanwhile in the OCS weekly points race, defending champion Dave Farrington Jr has grabbed the points lead after last Saturday night; continuing to build off his win in the previous PASS race at Oxford on April 25. Save for a Lap 1 tangle last Saturday, 2017 Oxford 250 winner Curtis Gerry has been neck and neck with Farrington. Both drivers will be expected to once again be among the ones to beat.

Curtis Gerry and Dave Farrington, Jr. have combined to win five of the last six PASS points-counting event at Oxford Plains Speedway. Johnny Clark, winner of the Oxford 250, is the only other driver to score a PASS Super Late Model win at the track since June 28, 2020.

Perhaps the driver with the most momentum right now may just be three-time 250 winner Travis Benjamin. He and the Petit Racing No. 7 team broke through to victory lane in last Saturday’s OCS 50-lapper, keeping Farrington at bay.

Also, in action Sunday at Oxford, the PASS Modifieds are on the schedule for their fifth event of 2021. Tyler King swept the first two events of the year, both at Oxford. Max Cookson scored the victory at Lee USA Speedway before Spencer Morse claimed the White Mountain Motorsports Park win following Cookson’s disqualification. The PASS Mods will go for 50 laps on Sunday.

Watch the PASS Super Late Models, PASS Modifieds, and Limited Late Models live on Speed51.TV this Sunday, June 6 at 1:30 p.m. ET with your monthly or yearly subscription.
