This past week Riverhead Raceway owners Eddie & Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz announced Saturday night August 19th they will present Pack The Track Fan Appreciation night with the second year promoters offering a reduced admission price of $20 for adults to enjoy an action packed NASCAR Whelen All American Series program. While other track operators have offered similar programs many usually give their premier racing divisions the night off on Pack The Track Fan Appreciation Night. The exact opposite will be in effect at Riverhead Raceway with three premier divisions among the seven classes in action for a total of 255-laps of feature event racing.
The Mr. Rooter New England Truck Series will headline Pack The Track Fan Appreciation Night running a 75-lap feature event. 2016 found legendary local driver “Dynamite” Dan Turbush of Riverhead taking down the win but Dan has been inactive to date in racing. Several L.I. based teams call the NETS tour home and are looking forward to the Riverhead event. Frank Dumicich Jr. of E. Quogue a recent NETS winner at Seekonk Speedway will be ready to do the same at the track he started his career at. Other “Islanders” in the mix will be “Dangerous” Dave Koenig of Baldwin, Jerry Giordano of Freeport and Frank Dumicich Sr. of E. Quogue. Top Mr.Rooter NETS drivers to watch include Andy Lindemann of Poestenkill, NY, Jim Boyle of East Windsor, Ct. and Joshua Stringer of Killington, Ct.
The Late Models will go to post in a 50-lap tilt on Pack The Track Fan Appreciation Night. Jarrod Hayes of Calverton won the 50-lapper back on July 29th and will be a threat for the win again. The 2017 NASCAR Modified campaign has been the year of the first time winner as Max Zachem of Preston, Ct., Dillon Steuer of Bohemia and David Schneider of Northport have all scored career first wins this season. Will the trend continue in the 40-lapper on August 19th? The Eagle Auto Mall Modified Crates 25-laps, Figure Eights 15-laps, Blunderbusts 20-laps and a Truck Enduro 30-laps will complete the race card.
Aside from the on track action another first will unfold on Pack The Track Fan Appreciation Night as Riverhead raceway will offer free School Bus rides on a bus that will participate in the School Bus Demolition Derby at the track the following Saturday night August 26th. Young and old race fans alike can pile onto the bus for a lap around the property of Riverhead Raceway with an actual Demolition Derby star at the wheel!
At just $20 for adults Pack The Track Fan Appreciation Night is an outstanding value for your entertainment dollar. Children 6-12 are just $10 and those tickets come complete on a weekly basis with a free kids meal from Fast Track Foods $6 value. Kids under 6 are free at all events.
