Four-time Southern National Motorsports Park track champion Deac McCaskill claimed the pole for the CARS Solid Rock Carriers Tour season opener in Late Model Stock competition, while a former Super Late Model winner at the 0.400-mile oval will lead that field to green.
McCaskill clocked in at 15.385 seconds, beating out Layne Riggs for the pole in their 150-lap feature. Mike Darne qualified third, followed by Craig Moore and Connor Mosack.
In Super Late Model qualifying, Trevor Noles set fast time with a lap of 15.138 seconds. Matt Craig, last week’s PRA Tours season opener winner at Southern National, will start alongside Noles to start that 150-lap event. Last year’s CARS Tour winner at Southern National, Bubba Pollard, will start third, followed by Kodie Conner and Hudson Halder.
Racing will begin at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time at the Lucama, North Carolina facility. The Speed51 Network will have post-race recaps of double-feature to start the CARS Tour season. Click here to join the Speed51 Network today.
