Due to the potential for thunderstorms later in the day on Sunday, the green flag for the 42nd Annual Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway has been moved up to 12:30 p.m. CT.  Track officials made the decision Saturday hoping to avoid any weather that could impact the completion of the 250-lap Southern Super Series season opener.

Some of the biggest names in asphalt Super Late Model racing are in Opp, Alabama this weekend hoping to meet the infamous Alabama rattlesnake in victory lane.  Bubba Pollard, Casey Roderick, Corey LaJoie, Harrison Burton and Raphael Lessard are just a few of the 25-plus drivers in the pit area.

After a day of practice on Friday, the action will heat up Saturday with qualifying for the Southern Super Series Super Late Models beginning at 3 p.m. CT.  That will lead into Pro Late Model qualifying for Saturday night’s Baby Rattler 125 Pro Late Model race.

Grandstands will open at 9 a.m. on Sunday with driver introductions beginning at 12:15 p.m.  The green flag is expected to wave at approximately 12:3o p.m.

Race fans unable to make it to Opp, Alabama can watch both days of racing action via a live pay-per-view broadcast on Speed51.com.  Two-day video tickets can be purchased at a discounted price by clicking here.
