Racing Update: Thompson Alters Test & Tune Format

Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park released the following bulletin to competitors, informing them that the track’s “Test & Tune” session would take place, with scheduling modifications in accordance with Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont’s ban of gatherings of more than 250 people.




Good Morning Competitors:


We are going to go forward with the NASCAR Test & Tune slated for next Saturday, March 21, with a new format, because of the Executive Order signed by Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, banning gatherings of more than 250 people. We will run this event with under 250 people, split up into two different practice runs, in the same day. We will have a Test Session A and Test Session B.


Pit Gates Open: 730am
Practice Runs: 9am-1pm
Pits Empty By: 130pm


Pit Gates Open: 130pm
Practice Begins: 2-6pm
Pits Empty: 615pm

Please note that you can have FIVE team members per car signed up, INCLUDING the driver. Each team member is $25 per person. Please note that the five team members will include anyone you wish to bring with the car. You will not be allowed more than five. All pit admission must be arranged via the link above, there will be no pit ticket sales on the day of the event.


Once each race team has completed sign-up, please wait for Thompson officials to contact you in order to assign you a testing session. Please note that a valid email address must be used when signing up for the test session. That is the only way officials will be able to contact you.


Any safe race car is welcome for this event.
