The fourth edition of the SRL Winter Showdown at Southern California’s Kern County Raceway Park on February 1-3 will be bigger and richer than ever. With an increase to 300 laps and $30,000 on the line, the best Late Model drivers from around the country are expected to be in attendance.
An event as big as the Winter Showdown always draws some of the best from the East. This year, the race has already received an entry from one of the East Coast’s best Super Late Model racers. Bubba Pollard, the winner of the first two Winter Showdowns, has officially filed an entry for the 4th Annual Winter Showdown in hopes of earning his third victory in growing event.
Coming off another grand season in 2017, in which Pollard captured eight Super Late Model wins and the prestigious Pro Late Model Allen Tuner Snowflake 100, the Senoia, Georgia driver is set to begin 2018 on the same wave of momentum.
“It’s a race that we have had a lot of success at. The track is great, the fans are great, there’s a lot of money to go for, and the best guys are going to be there. Why wouldn’t we go back?” Pollard told Speed51.com powered by JEGS.
Pollard is determined to get his third Winter Showdown win after a top 10 performance in 2017 at a track that has meshed very well with the former Southern Super Series champion.
“I enjoy racing at Kern County. We’ve made some friends out there and the competition is always top notch. We hope to victory lane again and if we do we know we are beating some of the best in the business.”
