Whether you’re with a race team competing in the 53rd Annual Snowball Derby, a Derby diehard fan from Pensacola, a first-timer traveling from “Anytown, U.S.A.”, or watching on Speed51.TV around the globe, we at Speed51 are here to help you get your Derby plans in order. Speed51’s Snowball Central has all the info you need for race week at Five Flags Speedway, including the all-too important event schedule.

From the time race haulers get the green light to pull into the track on Wednesday, December 2; to when the green flag is unfurled for 300 laps of Super Late Model racing on Sunday, December 6 and everything in between; Speed51’s Snowball Central has all the key events of the week covered.

 

Here’s some important times to note, and remember all times are according to the Central Time zone where Pensacola, Florida is located.

 

The aforementioned rig parking will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, with tech opening at 11 a.m. and being open for the next six hours. Day wraps with the PFC Brakes Qualifying draw at 6 p.m. and Green Flag Pit Party at 8 p.m.

 

Thursday, December 3, things get noisy with three rounds of practice each for Super and Pro Late Models between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The first feature races of the week featuring the WCI Parts Pro Trucks, Dock of Pensacola Beach Sportsmen, and Lloyd’s Glass Pure Stocks take place with qualifying at 6:45 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m.

 

Following Late Model practice from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, December 4 the Modifieds of Mayhem hold their qualifying immediately after. Snowball Derby Super Late Model Country Pleasin’ Sausage Pole Qualifying rolls at 6 p.m. Day concludes with the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour season finale at around 8 p.m.

 

Saturday, December 5 sees final practice sessions for both Super and Pro Late Models, as well as Outlaw Stocks, in the morning beginning at 10 a.m. Things crank up at 1:30 p.m. with qualifying for Outlaws, then Pro Late Models for the Snowflake 100. Then, the Last Chance Races for Pro Late Models, Super Late Models, and Outlaws. The day’s racing rolls at 7 p.m. with the 22nd Allen Turner Snowflake 100, and wrapping with the Faith Chapel Outlaw Stocks.

 

Finally, on Sunday, December 6 following morning preparations, the Pre-Race Show begins at Noon, all culminating with the 53rd Snowball Derby for the Super Late Models at 2 p.m. CT.
