While winning the 49th Annual Snowball Derby is the most rewarding thing a race team can do in short track racing, it takes a lot of work to get to that point.  PitBoxes.com and Speed51.com wanted to recognize that hard work throughout the “Five Days of the Derby.”

The Speed51.com staff will come together at the end of each day and decide what team should be the pit crew of the day, beginning on Wednesday, November 30.  PitBoxes.com will award the team chosen with a $100 gift certificate each day, from Wednesday to Saturday.  On Snowball Derby Sunday, Pitboxes.com will offer a $500 gift certificate to one of their state-of-the-art pitboxes.  In all, $900 worth of certificates will be available to teams in part of Pitboxes.com’s year-long program to recognize teams on Speed51.com.

The Pit Crew of the Day award will be given out for all four days of on-track action, plus Wednesday’s tech-day.  Wednesday can be one of the toughest days of the week as every team rushes to get unloaded and get through tech inspection just to be able to hit the race track on Thursday morning for practice.

“We wanted to reward the guys behind the scenes for their hard work,” said PitBoxes.com owner Ricky Sanders.  “The drivers get all of the credit, but the crew guys put in so much hard work to get them there.  We wanted to make sure they were recognized.”

The Pit Crew of the Day will be announced on Speed51.com at the end of each day’s coverage and the following morning.
