Behind every great driver is a great team.  The crew members that put in countless hours at the shop and at the track sometimes do not receive the recognition deserved for a job well done.  The combination of a great driver and a great crew is the recipe for making great things happen on the track.

That’s why the team at, who specialize in fabricating a high quality line of standard and custom pit boxes, is proud to honor the “Pit Crew of the Day” at the 51st Annual Snowball Derby.

Following Sunday’s 300-lap race at Five Flags Speedway, staff members voted to determine the “Pit Crew of the Day.”

The winner will receive a $200 product certificate to use at  For more on, visit their website today.

Without further ado, the Pit Crew of the Day for the 51st Annual Snowball Derby is……

There are times when a driver’s greatest enemy is not their competition on the race track, but their own ill-handling race car. When a car is not handling to a driver’s liking over a long race, it will ultimately come down to the pit crew to help their driver out.

During Sunday’s Snowball Derby, Jesse Dutilly’s debut in America’s most prestigious Late Model race was fraught with a car that refused to do what he wanted.  On top of that, he also received some battle scars along the way.

One of the first battle scars came early on in the race after Dutilly got into the back bumper of Bubba Pollard on a restart.  The damage suffered in that incident was quickly fixed by the No. 30 crew during the next caution period.

But the second half of the race, the race would turn “evil” with adjustments seemingly making things worse. Dutilly would also receive more body damage in a mid-race wreck, adding to the team’s frustrations.

The 30 crew would persevere on to help Dutilly make it to the checkered flag in the 15th position, helping when and where they could, with the possibility of some parts failure on the car.

For enduring a full deck of troubles and helping bring their driver home with their car in one piece, the No. 30 team is awarded the Pit Crew of the Day for Snowball Derby Sunday.

By winning the award, Carbone Motorsports becomes the first pit crew to win two Pit Crew Awards since its inception.  The crew also won a Pit Crew of the Month Award in April when they competed in two races at tracks eight hours apart, winning one of them at 4-17 Southern Speedway (FL).
