Behind every great driver is a great team. The crew members that put in countless hours at the shop and at the track sometimes do not receive the recognition deserved for a job well done. The combination of a great driver and a great crew is the recipe for making great things happen on the track.
That’s why the team at PitBoxes.com, who specialize in fabricating a high quality line of standard and custom pit boxes, is proud to honor a monthly “Pit Crew of the Month” from the short track ranks of America on Speed51.com. Each month, an esteemed panel of short track industy insiders will vote on which pit crew helped lead their driver to success on the track. The pit crew with the most votes will then be the “PitBoxes.com Pit Crew of the Month” and will receive a $200 product certificate to use at PitBoxes.com. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
Bobby Santos III and Tinio Racing never gave up during their recent visit to New Hampshire Motor Speedway. After suffering a blown engine in practice and losing out on vital track time during practice, Santos and crew rebounded to win the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Eastern Propane and Oil 100 in thrilling fashion.
Due to the lack of practice time at “The Magic Mile,” Santos turned in a subpar qualifying effort and started the 100-lap race from the 14th position. Like he has been known to do in the past, he sat quietly in the weeds for much of the race before a late-race pit stop and the perfect adjustment sent the No. 44 Tinio Racing car to the front of the field.
In the end, Santos held off Chase Dowling to win by a narrow margin of 0.014 second. Following the race, Santos credited his team’s grit and determination as the main component of his victory.
For their hard work and never-give-up attitude, the Tinio Racing team has been awarded the PitBoxes.com Pit Crew of the Month for July.
