Behind every great driver is a great team. The crew members that put in countless hours at the shop and at the track sometimes do not receive the recognition deserved for a job well done. The combination of a great driver and a great crew is the recipe for making great things happen on the track.
That’s why the team at PitBoxes.com, who specialize in fabricating a high quality line of standard and custom pit boxes, is proud to honor a monthly “Pit Crew of the Month” from the short track ranks of America on Speed51.com. Each month, an esteemed panel of short track industy insiders will vote on which pit crew helped lead their driver to success on the track. The pit crew with the most votes will then be the “PitBoxes.com Pit Crew of the Month” and will receive a $200 product certificate to use at PitBoxes.com. Carbone Motorsports Team
Super Late Models
Jesse Dutilly and the Carbone Motorsports Team displayed grit and determination this past weekend in the Sunshine State.
Dutilly, who has been a force in Central Florida during recent seasons, loaded up his No. 30 Super Late Model and made the seven-and-a-half hour haul to Five Flags Speedway (FL) for Friday’s Blizzard Series opener. In just his third start at the Pensacola, FL oval, Dutilly ran in the top five for much of the race before suffering a broken driveshaft.
The weekend didn’t end there.
After being locked out of their hotel in Pensacola and not getting to sleep until 1:30 a.m., Dutilly and his team woke up at 5 a.m. to begin the eight-hour drive towards Punta Gorda, Florida’s 4-17 Southern Speedway.
The team made a quick stop at Dutilly’s Integrity Transmissions shop in Sarasota, FL to “thrash on the car” and get it ready for Saturday night’s Super Late Model race at 4-17 Southern Speedway.
After two hours of working on the car, the team finally arrived at the race track at 4:30 p.m., just in time to make a few laps of practice. Dutilly went on to set fast time in qualifying but started 11th after an inversion. From there, he drove to the front to win the Randy Fox – Frank Welch Memorial 104.
For their hard work and determination to get from Five Flags Speedway to 4-17 Southern Speedway, the Carbone Motorsports Team has been awarded the PitBoxes.com Pit Crew of the Month for April.
