Since reopening in 2014, Pennsylvania’s Jennerstown Speedway has worked tirelessly to once again become a go-to destination for pavement racing in the Keystone State. To further that goal, earlier this year, Jennerstown revealed a brand-new signature event that would bring race teams from beyond the borders of Pennsylvania and New York to the half-mile facility.
The inaugural Motor Mountain Masters on Saturday, August 11 will be highlighted by an open-competition Late Model race. The three segment, 150-lap race will boast a $6,000 prize for the driver who comes home first when it is all said and done.
Late Models will make use of both time trials and heat racing to set the 30-car starting field on race day. The top two in time trials will be guaranteed front row spots, as long as they finish in a transfer spot in their heat race.
The three segments will each be 40, 50, and 60 laps in length, respectively. The field will be frozen during the two segment breaks, with teams being given five minutes to perform maintenance. The feature will be a six-tire race.
The Masters will also bring in stars and cars from Open-Wheel Modifieds that are a common sight in the Midwest and Southeast to Jennerstown as well. The Mods will have a $3,000 prize to chase over a 50-lap race distance, with the event being broken into two segments with a Lap 20 break.
These events, plus the addition of a 35-lap, $1,000-to-win 4-Cylinder race, brings the total race purse to over $53,000 in cash awards for those who make the starting fields of all three events.
Best of all is that race fans can purchase advanced tickets for the Motor Mountain Masters for just $15, but will only have until August 9 to do so, after which the price will go to $18.
