The ULTIMATE Northeast Super Late Model Series announced on Tuesday that a pair of its events at Latrobe Speedway in Latrobe, Pennsylvania have been postponed due to conditions at the track.
“Officials with the Latrobe Speedway in conjunction with the Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series have postponed series events scheduled for July 4th and July 18th due to track conditions,” reads a statement from the series. “Latrobe Speedway is working on issues with the track surface and will be rescheduling these shows in the coming weeks. The next Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series event is scheduled for July 5th at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex.”
“We look forward to getting to Latrobe this season, but the safety of our drivers is our top priority, and track officials agree that right now the best thing to do is to postpone these two scheduled events while Latrobe works out the track surface issues they are currently facing,” said Ultimate Northeast regional director Rose Compton in the statement.
The pair of events would have marked the first races for the ULTIMATE Northeast series at Latrobe Speedway. The track is still scheduled to host an ULTIMATE Northeast event on August 8.
The ULTIMATE Northeast Super Late Model Series 2020 season began on June 13 at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex (PA). Two-time and defending series champion Jared Miley won that event over Ryan Montgomery. With the Latrobe postponements, the next ULTIMATE Northeast event is scheduled to also take place at Roaring Knob, on Sunday, July 5.
