Short track racers hoping to be a part of history and compete in the inaugural Short Track U.S. Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway (TN) have one day left to file their entries for the event. The listed deadline for racers to file entries for the event is Friday, March 24.
More than 500 cars are expected for the Short Track U.S. Nationals across six different divisions. That fact alone makes the race one of the largest short track events in the entire country. With so many cars expected to enter, a deadline was set to allow race officials the time to properly prepare for such a major event.
“We’re excited to finally get the complete entry list out next week,” said RJ Scott, Managing Partner for the Champion Racing Association, one of the co-sanctioning bodies for the Short Track U.S. Nationals. “Where CRA events are concerned everyone can check out our road to Bristol information sheet on our website. Obviously if we’re not at capacity in any division will continue to take entries until we are.”
The inaugural Short Track U.S. Nationals will welcome racers from multiple disciplines of racing including Super Late Models, Pro Late Models, Late Model Stock Cars, Modifieds, Compacts and Street Stocks.
The three-day event will include a practice day for all divisions on Friday, May 19 before things heat up with qualifying on Saturday, May 20.
Modifieds, Compacts and Street Stocks will all be on the big stage racing 50 lap features on Saturday. The trio of Late Model divisions will share center stage on Sunday with three 100-lap feature races on the schedule.
Champions Racing Association (CRA) has taken the lead sanctioning body role for the event. The Super Late Model portion of the event will be co-sanctioned by the ARCA/CRA Super Series, Southern Super Series and CARS Tour.
CRA will also oversee the Pro Late Model race with their JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, while the CARS Tour will oversee all Late Model Stock Car action.
The Street Stock race will be sanctioned by CRA, while the Modifieds will be organized by the ICAR Top Speed Modifieds. Compacts will be overseen by the Vore’s Compact Touring Series.
