Old North State Nationals Postponed Indefinitely

One day after postponing its event at Hickory Motor Speedway scheduled for Saturday, March 21, the CARS Solid Rock Carriers Tour has postponed the 2nd Annual Old North State Nationals.

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper passed Executive Order No. 117 on March 14th, which banned public gatherings of more than 100 people within the state for thirty (30) days,” the CARS Tour said in a press release.  “The Old North State Nationals presented by Visit Orange County, originally scheduled for April 4-5th at Orange County Speedway, has been postponed indefinitely as a result.”

The Old North State Nationals is the highest-paying event on the CARS Tour schedule, offering a grand prize of $30,000 to the winner of the Late Model Stock event.  Last year, Lee Pulliam won the inaugural running of the event after a thrilling late-race battle with Josh Berry.

With the postponement, the next currently scheduled CARS Tour event is the Race at Ace 125 at Ace Speedway (NC) on Saturday, May 1.  That weekend, the CARS Tour is also co-sanctioning the North/South Super Late Model Challenge on May 2 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway (TN) along with the Southern Super Series and ARCA/CRA Super Series.
