SOUTH BOSTON, Va. — With a forecast of unusually cold spring temperatures for Saturday night, South Boston Speedway officials announced Thursday afternoon that Saturday’s racing program has been moved to the afternoon.


Grandstands will open at 12:30 p.m. for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150 with qualifying for the NWSMT race set to begin at 1 p.m. Time trials for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Tour Late Model series, which will run twin 75-lap races, are set for 1:30 p.m.


The first race of the afternoon will be a 15-lap Budweiser Hornet Division race at 2 p.m.


The Late Model cars will hit the track for their first 75-lap race followed by the 150-lap NWSMT race. The second Late Model race will follow to close out the day’s race program.


Advance tickets are on sale for $10 each, and are available until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 8. Adult general admission tickets on race day will be priced at $15. Youth ages 7-12 will be admitted for $5 each with a paying adult. Kids under six years of age will be admitted free with a paying adult.

NWSMT Switches to Day Racing at South Boston
