SPOKANE, Wash. – Officials with the Northwest Super Late Model Series and South Sound Speedway have agreed on a date that will see the region’s premier super late model series get underway for 2020.
The NWSLMS Kick-Off 100 will be held on August 15 with drivers out to tame the .375-mile paved oval located just outside of Tenino, Wash.
“Without the hard work of the Behn family and the staff at South Sound Speedway this season opener may not have gotten off the ground,” said NWSLMS Director Jarrod Goodwin. “We’ve spent months working on plans to get races in and the Behn’s have been supportive of holding series races every step of the way. We are hopeful that our second South Sound race comes together and that we’ll still be able to hold events at Wenatchee Valley Super Oval, Yakima Speedway and Hermiston Raceway. This Kick-Off 100 is a good start towards making those races a reality.”
Purse structure, entry fees and other details for the Kick-Off 100 will be announced in coming days, Goodwin added.
“Unfortunately, we do not expect to be able to have fans in the stands but are working on a live stream option for those who want to see the racing action. If anything changes per state rules that allow fans, we will update all as quickly as we can. We are still ironing out some of the event particulars for this one-day show, but we’re going to be racing. The event is a point’s race for the championship, and we expect to see some of the best talent in the Northwest out to support South Sound Speedway and the series.”
