LEE, NH – The drivers of the North East Street Stock Tour are putting the final touches on their cars, in preparation for the Inaugural Event at Lee USA Speedway, May 17, with the Tri-Track Open Modified Series.
Lebanon, ME’s Patrick Tanguay is excited to return to the track where he has enjoyed so much success. Tanguay is a two-time Hobby Stock champion at Lee USA Speedway, winning the titles in 2013-2014, and looks to make an impression at the first stop on the North East Street Stock Tour (NESST) schedule.
Tanguay knows the competition will be tough, saying “The names involved in this tour makes it a very stout tour, in my eyes. If we could win this race it would be absolutely awesome, and being at my home track, would make it even sweeter.”
The Southern core of drivers will make the trek to Lee USA Speedway, as well, as Tanguay continues, “It’s hard to pick one guy, but I know (Chris) “Moose” Douton will be tough. Larry Barnett is a great driver, also. I’ve seen him race at Thompson (Speedway Motorsports Park). It seems the Thompson (Speedway Motorsports Park) guys have their act together.”
Another driver to watch at Lee is Geoff Rollins. Rollins will be piloting a ride out of the Bill Clement stables, and is a threat to contend out of the box. The Groton, MA resident races whatever he can get his hands on, including Hobby Stock, Super Street, and Pro Stock divisions. Rollins has a storied career at tracks around New England, but especially at Lee USA Speedway, winning numerous races at the track in six different cars.
A hard-nosed racer, Rollins plans on giving his all at the Inaugural Event, saying “You’ve got to run each lap like it is the last lap. The 705 series tire (the tire used on the NESST) likes to be beat on. I think we’ve got a really good shot at winning.”
The North East Street Stock Tour will run the Inaugural Event at Lee USA Speedway, May 17, with the Tri-Track Open Modified Series. Front gates will open at 9AM, with practice beginning at 12PM. Qualifying action will begin 1:05PM. For more information on the North East Street Stock Tour, visit www.nestreetstocktour.com, on Facebook (N.E.
