BRIDGEPORT, NJ – It all begins in South Jersey.

The chase for the Short Track Super Series Fueled By Hi-Tek Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. South Region championship opens on Sunday, April 19 (rain date: April 26) at Brian Ramey’s Bridgeport Speedway with the ‘South Jersey Shootout’ inaugural edition. The event will make history at Bridgeport, a wide and fast five-eighths-mile clay oval located just minutes from Delaware and Pennsylvania.

The ‘South Jersey Shootout’ will be headlined by the Short Track Super Series big-block/small-block Modifieds running 40 laps with a lucrative purse structure offering $5,000-plus to win, $1,000 for 10th-place and $400 to take the green flag. Who will strike first in the Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. South Region, a five-race point series involving Bridgeport, Big Diamond (Pa.), New Egypt (N.J.), Delaware International and Georgetown (Del.) speedways?

The Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. South Region will pay a minimum of $7,500 to its inaugural champion. The top-10 drivers will share in the series point fund which totals a healthy $19,800 for just five events. All drivers with perfect attendance placing outside the top-10 will receive $250.

The rules for the ‘South Jersey Shootout’ have been established with staggered weight limits for a competitive balance among “Delaware” big-blocks, standard big-blocks and a variety of small-block powerplants. The rule structure should encourage a diverse field to converge on Bridgeport for the South Region lid-lifter.

Race information is now posted on the Short Track Super Series website at the following link: http://bdmotorsportsmedia.com/south-jersey-shootout-rules-general-information/

The complete Modified purse structure, from first to last, is outlined on the web at: http://bdmotorsportsmedia.com/modified-pay-structure/

Registration is now open for the ‘South Jersey Shootout’ for Modified competitors. The entry form can be found here: http://bdmotorsportsmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/BridgeportModifiedEntryForm.pdf

Unique to the ‘South Jersey Shootout’ event: both the outer five-eighths-mile track and inner quarter-mile will be in action on the same day. While the Modifieds, Sportsman (Open vs. Crate) and Outlaw Stocks will compete on the big track, Doug Borger’s XCel 600 Modified series is set to do battle on the inner quarter-mile oval. Fans will get to see action on two tracks for one price.
