Last week we updated employees, fans and drivers that we would be suspending the beginning of our 2020 racing season for two weeks. Since that time, we have received the following from NASCAR as the nation continues to experience the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19):
“In accordance with safety protocols … NASCAR is mandating that there are not to be any NASCAR sanctioned races through May 3rd.”
As the state’s only NASCAR Home Track, this means we must comply with this new mandate by our sanctioning body. While we hoped to be open before this date, the safety and health of our employees, fans and drivers will always come first. We will continue to update you with more information as it becomes available.
We will also be POSTPONING open and private practice to respect the increased demand for emergency and fire rescue personnel during this time of need.
Again we thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. We would like to also remind people to do their part and follow CDC guidelines to ensure the health and safety of the public.
