MOORESVILLE, N.C. – To position themselves as the preeminent development organization in NASCAR for up-and-coming drivers, MDM-Hillman Racing has partnered with Lorin Ranier to form a new entity, Ranier Racing with MDM.
The team will field multiple entries in select NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and ARCA Racing Series events throughout the 2016 season.
“We are excited to be joining forces with Lorin in this venture to strengthen our team,” said Matt Miller. “The experience, knowledge and driver development expertise that he brings to our organization is unparalleled in the industry.”
“This is a great opportunity to bring the Ranier Racing legacy into the modern era,” said Ranier, “Over the last several months, we’ve worked hard to assemble some of the freshest driving talent and accomplished competition personnel in stock car racing. It’s exciting to see it all come together and we’re eager to get the season started.”
Mark McFarland, who joined the organization during the off-season as a partner in MDM-Hillman, will lead the team’s Competition Department. McFarland spent the past two years at HScott Motorsports, where he guided 16-year-old Ben Rhodes to the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Championship.
Championship crew chief Mardy Lindley has also joined the team. Lindley led driver Dylan Kwasniewski to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Championship in 2013.
Veteran NASCAR Camping World Truck and K&N Pro Series East crew chief Doug Howe rounds out the team’s key personnel hires.
Ranier Racing with MDM will operate their teams from MDM-Hillman’s existing 22,000-square foot shop in Mooresville.
