Stephen Nasse will be looking to get back on track literally and figuratively this weekend during the second race of the CARS Tour season at Orange County Speedway (NC). The Pinellas Park, Florida driver looks forward to improving on a 12th-place in the season opener two weeks ago.
“We really struggled with drive off in that race,” said Nasse. “We made a bad call to come in and make some changes at the caution with 40 to go, after we made the changes the car was so tight I couldn't go anywhere. We learned a lot, though, and I look forward to tackling Orange County this weekend.”
Nasse is quick to put his woes at Southern National Motorsports Park (NC) behind him and focus on this Saturday’s race at Orange County. He picked up a second-place finish at Orange County one year ago and thinks this could be the weekend to get back on track.
“We’re going to do some testing, but we have struggled in the past at SNMP so I'm not going to let it bother me,” said Nasse. “I’m going to forget about the last race and try and go get us a win this weekend.”
Nasse plans to compete full time in the CARS Tour Super Late Model Series and knows with the stiff competition in 2016 he will need to bring his ‘A’ game each weekend. This weekend’s race is just the second of a 10-race schedule this season.
“I'm looking forward to it,” said Nasse. “It seems like everyone is really competitive and pretty even, so when you’re just a little off it can make a huge difference. I am most looking forward to running up front and getting a win.”
