NASCAR Stars Taking Part in Short Track Draft Broadcast

The top 10 picks in the 2021 Speed51 Short Track Draft presented by RYNO will be announced Wednesday, May 12 at 7 p.m. ET.  Several top NASCAR stars will be part of Wednesday’s broadcast as the top selections in this year’s draft are revealed.


Several standouts from the racing world will join Speed51 in studio for Wednesday’s draft, providing analysis and insight into the top prospects in this year’s draft.  NASCAR Cup Series competitor Ryan Blaney will be a guest host, as well former Snowball Derby champion Travis Braden.




Several NASCAR drivers will also be announcing draft picks throughout the course of the Short Track Draft.  Joey Logano, Austin Dillon, Kyle Larson, Ryan Preece, Erik Jones, Noah Gragson and Daniel Hemric are among the drivers who will reveal top 10 selections in this year’s Short Track Draft.


The Speed51 Short Track Draft featured a ballot of 300 up and coming racers, distributed to an expert panel of industry insiders, media members and more.  The top 10 picks will be announced during the Short Track Draft show on Wednesday, May 12 at 7 p.m. ET.

Ryan Blaney and Travis Braden will join the Speed51 Short Track Draft Selection Show as guest hosts, while several NASCAR drivers will be part of the broadcast announcing draft picks.

In order to be eligible for the ballot, drivers needed to meet the following criteria:

  • 25 years or younger as of April 1, 2021
  • Maintain rookie status in NASCAR’s top-three series
  • Have less than eight races scheduled in NASCAR’s top-three series


Last year, Sam Mayer was named the top pick in the Short Track Draft. Other former number-one picks include the likes of Chase Elliott, Bubba Pollard, Daniel Hemric, Christopher Bell, Ty Majeski, Todd Gilliland, Harrison Burton and Chandler Smith.
