More Anticipation Than Ever Approaching Snowball Derby

Through the dark clouds of 2020, the anticipation for the ultimate Super Late Model crown jewel is at its highest level ever. The week of December 2-6 will see the best Late Model drivers in North America make the annual pilgrimage to the Florida Panhandle for the 53rd time.

 

The countdown to the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway is down to only five weeks.

 

Entries for the legendary race are now pouring in, as race teams begin to direct their focus on 2020’s end. Drivers from the far corners of the continent, to those who live right across town in Pensacola will form another tremendous cast come December.

 

Where will you be able to get a first look at the entries? As always, it will be right here on Speed51.com in the coming days.

 

The race itself, if you want your tickets, you better get them while you can. Reserved seats are going with each passing day so head on over https://www.5flagsspeedway.com or call (850) 944-8400 to make sure you are set for the entire week of racing.

 

For those planning to watch the race from home, we will have you covered, too. Speed51.TV will have broadcasts of all the week’s racing from qualifying draws on Wednesday, December 2 to the big 300-lap show on Sunday, December 6. Details regarding the broadcasts will be available soon.

 

As for what you can expect over the week, following the aforementioned Qualifying Draw and Pit Party after load-in day on Wednesday,, cars will hit the track for the first time during the week on Thursday, December 3, with first practice for the Super Late Models as well as the Pro Late Models. The day caps off with a trio of races, 50 laps for the Pro Trucks and Sportsmen, while the Pure Stocks go for 35 laps.

 

Friday, December 4 the action picks up following another morning and afternoon of Late Model practice. The heart stopping thrill of Snowball Derby Qualifying leads off the nighttime portion of the day, with Super Late Model drivers going to the limit for the first 30 starting spots on Sunday. The night concludes with 75-lap season finale for the open-wheel Modifieds of Mayhem.

 

The day of Saturday, December 5 sees the Pro Late Models take the spotlight, with the 22nd running of the Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100. The day will also be the last chance to make the field for the Snowball Derby itself, plus 50 laps of competition for the Outlaw competitors.

 

Finally, the week all comes to ahead with the big race itself, the 53rd Snowball Derby on Sunday, December 6 with 300 laps for the Super Late Models in the dash for the Tom Dawson Trophy.
