Mondeik Pulls the Sweep, Now 5-0 at Norway

Justin Mondeik started at the tail of both 20 lap late model features at Norway Speedway Friday night.

In both contests the Gleason, Wisconsin hotshoe patiently bided his time slicing his way through the field and wound up wrestling the lead away from a pair of Kingsford drivers for the victories at Norway Speedway Friday night.

In the first contest Mondeik, currently one of the hottest short track late model racers in the Midwest, chased down veteran Bruce White, catching him and passing him in the waning laps to score his fourth win of the season. White scored a second place in his best finish of the year.

With a full invert for the second feature Same scenario but a different leader this time, as Jason Wells surrendered the lead to Mondeik to give up the lead and eventual win. Vulcan’s Dan Lindsley hung with Mondeik through traffic and wound up in the runnerup spot.

Fast qualifier Anthony Schiefelbein bested the field of super stocks with a feature win, while a pair of north central Wisconsin pilots scored wins in the stock car and stock four classes. Marion’s B.J. Schoneck scored a caution free, stock car feature win while Wausau’s Eric Breitenfeldt safely sifted his way through lapped cars to capture the feature win.
