(Mooresville, N.C. — With six races left in the 2014 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season Mason Mitchell and Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) have elected to make a change at the crew chief position. Effective immediately, veteran crew chief Jamie Jones will move over from the No. 15 Venturini Motorsports (VMS) entry to the No. 98 MMM team, Matt Weber will move from the No. 98 MMM team to the No. 15 VMS team.
“I can’t begin to thank Matt Weber for his time and dedication to MMM” Mitchell said Wednesday morning. He helped build this program from the ground up and did a great job coming on as crew chief at Toledo earlier this year. Matt was a big part in putting this team on the map. I am looking forward to working with Jamie Jones starting this weekend. Jamie and I have worked well together in the past and have successful results with one another.”
Jones was Mitchell’s first ARCA crew chief in 2012 earning four top-ten’s in four starts along with two top-five finishes. The duo pared again in 2013 earning four top-ten’s in four races.
This weekend marks the first of two dirt races in 2014 for the ARCA Racing Series at The Illinois State Fairgrounds for the superchevystores.com 100
Arcaracing.com will feature live timing and scoring for all on-track activity from Springfield. The race will air on the ARCA Radio Network (ARN), Sunday, August 17th at 2:00 p.m. ET.
