Millbridge Reveals Plans for Big Week of Racing in September

A huge week of racing for Outlaw Karts and Micro Sprints is planned around Labor Day weekend, with big money on the line in an action-packed Diaedge NC Race Week.

Diaedge NC Race Week will feature five nights of racing at Millbridge Speedway, making up for the loss of racing during the Iredell County Fair in 2020 as that event has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For Open Division Outlaw Kart competitors, there will be a chance to win more than $3,000 over three nights of racing at three different race tracks in the Diaedge Open Shootout.

“We are thrilled to announce Diaedge NC Race Week and the Diaedge Open Shootout,” said Miilbridge Speedway co-owner Ashly Burnett.  “It will be an exciting six nights of racing at Millbridge, Mountain Creek and at 304 Speedway.”

The Diaedge Open Shootout will begin on Tuesday, September 1 at Mountain Creek Speedway in Catawba, North Carolina with $1,000 going to the winner of the Open Outlaw Kart race.

Four days later on Saturday, September 5 the week will continue at 304 Speedway in West Virginia.  Once again, $1,000 will go to the Open Outlaw Kart winner for that night of racing.

The Outlaw Karts will then be in action Sunday, September 6 at Millbridge, with $1,000 once again going to the Open Outlaw Kart winner.

At the end of these three races, there will also be a $1,500 purse for the top finishers in the Diaedge Open Shootout.

While the Outlaw Karts will be at 304 Speedway on September 5, Millbridge will kick off Diaedge NC Race Week that night with Non-Wing 600 Micro Sprints and Micro Late Models.

The Micro Sprints will put the wings back on for Sunday’s racing, with all Outlaw Kart classes joining them for Sunday’s race program.  On both Saturday and Sunday, the Micro Sprint feature will pay $1,000 to the winner.

The DNQ Karting Series will take on Millbridge on Monday, September 7, celebrating Labor Day with their throwback night and the NXT Motorsports All Star Race.

Tuesday and Wednesday, September 8 and 9, will feature the standard weekly racing programs for Millbridge’s Outlaw Kart and Micro Sprint divisions.  Tuesday will be a points night for Beginner Box Stocks and Box Stocks, while Wednesday will bring the Open and Intermediate Outlaw Karts as well as Non-Wing 600 Micro Sprints.
