Millbridge Speedway has announced it will postpone the 2020 Speed51 Open presented by HMS Motorsport, in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The event was previously scheduled for May 18-20.
While there is no set date at this time for the postponed Outlaw Kart event, the race will take place in the 2020 season, with plans to reschedule once state and local restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic have been lifted.
“It is unfortunate that we have to postpone the Speed51 Open presented by HMS Motorsport at this time,” said Millbridge Speedway co-owner Ashly Burnett. “However, our primary responsibility at this time is the safety of our fans and competitors, and we look forward to hosting this event once it is safe to do so.”
The Speed51 Open is one of the richest and most prestigious Outlaw Kart events each year. The event is headlined by a $5,151-to-win, 51-lap Open Division feature, which brings out dirt racing and Outlaw Karting stars from across the country.
