Ty Majeski to Make XFINITY Debut at Iowa Speedway

Short track racing’s most talked about prospect is ready for his first shot at one of NASCAR’s top three series.  Ty Majeski, the 2016 and 2017 Short Track Driver of the Year on Speed51.com, will make his NASCAR XFINITY Series debut for Roush Fenway Racing at Iowa Speedway on June 24.


Majeski, coming off another big win at The Rattler this past weekend, also hinted on Twitter that he has more exciting news to announce soon about his 2017 racing plans.  Be sure to stay tuned to Speed51.com to find out what the three-time ARCA Midwest Tour champion has in store.

Dells Raceway Park to Hold First and Last Race in Wisconsin Again

300x250 PASS Orange Blossom PPV 2017.03.25Dells Raceway Park will once again hold the first and last races of the year in the state of Wisconsin.  They will kick off their season on Sunday, April 9 with the Icebreaker 100 and conclude their season on Sunday, October 22 with the Falloween 150.


According to the track’s Twitter page, 31 Super Late Model drivers were already entered for the Icebreaker event as of last Monday.

Wisconsin Tracks Ban Together to Resurrect Wisconsin Challenge Series

State Park Speedway, Dells Raceway Park, Golden Sands Speedway and Marshfield Motor Speedway have come together to bring back the Wisconsin Challenge Series.  The Series will kick off on June 1 at State Park Speedway then head to Dells Raceway Park on June 24.  After that, the series makes a trip to Golden Sands Speedway on July 14 and concludes at Marshfield Motor Speedway on August 19.


ARCA Midwest Tour Releases 2017 Schedule

The ‘Stars and Cars’ of the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment will invade 12 of the region’s finest facilities for 12 races during their 2017 campaign.  A first ever visit to Golden Sands Speedway in Plover, Wisconsin and a long overdue return to Jefferson Speedway are sure to catch Midwest short track auto racing fans’ attention.

Madison International Speedway Welcomes Back SLM Triple Crown

The 2017 Super Late Model Triple Crown Challenge dates for Madison International Speedway were announced this afternoon. Friday night, June 2 will play host to round number one, as 2016 Triple Crown Champion Casey Johnson is expected to defend his title against top Super Late Model competitors from at least four states on Wisconsin’s fastest half mile. Round 2 will be contested on Friday July 7 and ‘The Howie 50’ will determine the Triple Crown champion, Friday Night, August 18.

ARCA Late Model Super Gold Cup Series Boots Purse by $2,000 Each

 A new twist to the ARCA Late Model Gold Cup Series for the upcoming season will see a new name and a purse boost of $2000 per race, thanks to six businesses that have pledged their support for the outlaw-bodied Late Model class at both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways.

Royal Truck and Trailer Sales, Moran Chevrolet, DTS Drive Train Specialists, Diamond Racing Products, Dani’s Transport and former Late Model racer Guy Pritchard are the six businesses that have made the new concept, the ARCA Late Model “Super 6 Gold Cup” Series a reality. Travis Sauter Takes Over Chase Motorsports Ride for 2017

It’s been more than three decades since a member of the Sauter racing family competed weekly at Wisconsin International Raceway’s “Thursday Night Thunder” program. But that’s about to change in 2017.

Elko Speedway Drops Super Late Models From Weekly Program

After more than 10 years, Elko Speedway (MN) has decided that it will not run Super Late Models on a weekly basis during the 2017 season.  This decision comes as a shock and a disappointment to some long-time drivers at the track, including 2016 Super Late Model champion Jacob Goede and third-place finisher, Joey Miller.

Badgerland Challenge Returns

For the third straight year, Jefferson Speedway, Slinger Super Speedway and Madison International Speedway will host the Badgerland Challenge, featuring their top weekly Late Model and Sportsman teams in a three race challenge, crowning an individual Champion as well as a Team Champion. For two years running, ‘Wisconsin’s Action Track’ Jefferson Speedway has captured the Team Championship, as each driver competes to earn points for their Home Track Team in order to claim ‘George the Badger’, the traveling trophy displayed annually at the winning track. CRA Championship Runner-Up Heading South for the Weekend

2016 ARCA/CRA Super Series championship runner-up Dalton Armstrong will be making his way to North Carolina this weekend for the PASS Orange Blossom Special at Orange County Speedway.  The Indiana driver has teamed up with car owner Robert Hamke to drive the blue No. 74 Hamke house car.

NSTA Top Speed Modifieds Announce $10,000 Purse & Playoff Format

NSTA Top Speed Modified Tour Officials have announced the point fund for the 2017 Kickin’ Asphalt Tour will be $10,000.00. The 2017 Tour Champion will be crowned through a seven-race playoff-style format with 12 drivers competing for the championship. Similar to the NASCAR Playoffs, drivers will qualify for the championship through the first ten races of the season. Race winners and top point earners will be selected as part of the 12-team playoff field. At the end of each round, the field will be reduced until four drivers remain for a winner-take-all championship race at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Ind.


Title Sponsor Signed for Newly-Formatted Glass City 200

Toledo Speedway’s signature event, the Glass City 200, will now carry the Central Transport name as the title sponsor for the 29th running of the prestigious event, set for Saturday, September 16.


The Warren, MI-based group will now enter its third year of supporting the 200 at the Glass City oval and the first as the title sponsor.  The event will undergo a format change for the 2017 edition of the race.  The new plan will see a pair of 100 lap features on the agenda—100 laps for the outlaw-bodied Late Models and a 100 lap event for the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS stock-bodied Late Models.  Each race will pay $5000 to win and $800 to start.
